Newsletter - June 2025
“Coaches supporting coaches, your voice, your network, stronger together”.
To TCA Members,
A quick update from The TCA board who have been very busy organising a new TCA logo and website - www.tenniscoachesaustralia.au.
This, with the help of website designer and TCA member Mark Pereira, will provide a more professional and accessible website platform for our members.
The board would also like to welcome new board member South Australian representative Helen Rice. Helen replaces Craig Mousley - Craig has taken on a new coaching role that will include heavy travel commitments.
Helen brings a wealth of coaching experience and innovation to the board - she is a Professional Tennis Coach & Business Owner for 45 years, founding the Helen Rice Tennis School in Adelaide in 1979. Alongside her coaching team (which over the years has included hundreds of coaches), she has coached hundreds of children and adults – ranging from three to eighty-seven years old – including many third-generation families. The school currently operates across three clubs and numerous schools.
A qualified Tennis Australia Club Professional coach, Helen has coached teams and squads for Tennis SA and has served as a mentor for Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots and Cardio Tennis programs. She has also presented to many coaches at both state and national coaching conferences.
In 2017, she was awarded the prestigious Tennis Australia Newcombe Medal-Club Coach Excellence, and has been a finalist on four other occasions.
Helen currently serves on the board of the Women's Tennis Foundation and is a member of the Tennis Australia Coach Coalition.
She was honoured to be part of the inaugural Tennis Australia Women’s Coach Connect workshop led by Nicole Pratt in 2022—an initiative designed to encourage more girls to play the sport and to elevate and support women in coaching across the country.
We are very excited to have Helen on the board as she embodies our TCA mission - coaches supporting coaches, your voice, your network, together stronger.
