TCA President & TCA Awards

October 25, 2025

We are proud of another year of hard work from our board on behalf of our 900 national members.

As a quick update TCA is still in the process of completing our new website tenniscoachesaustralia.au We encourage everyone to take a look.

With our online AGM coming up we encourage all members to login in for what will be a quick 30min meeting, to ask any questions and to vote on any potential new board members.

TCA is a totally independent coaching association. Our main objective is to advocate on coaches behalf directly with TA representatives. As your voice, please feel welcome to email us any questions that you would like to ask TA. We are currently in discussions regarding how we can make coaching more attractive for future assistant, senior full time and owner operator coaches. There are a vast array of issues we are looking into improving for all cohorts.

We hope to see you at the AGM.

2025 TCA Awards Night –

A Celebration of Coaching Excellence.

Our awards night is a highlight of our calendar. Our point of difference from other coaching awards is that our awards have coaches awarding coaches recognition.

We thank the 100+ attendees who joined us for an unforgettable night at the beautiful Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club for the 2025 Tennis Coaches Australia Awards.

It was a privilege to be surrounded by so many greats from the tennis coaching community, including:

* TCA Life Members

* Former TCA Presidents

* TCA Legends and Hall of Famers

* Representatives from Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria

* Current and former tennis coaches

* Club presidents, secretaries, coaching teams, friends, and family

We are proud to celebrate and announce the winners of the 2025 TCA Awards – individuals who go above and beyond in their dedication to tennis coaching and community impact.

2025 Hall of Fame Inductee
Tim Connelly Inducted into the TCA Hall of Fame

A huge congratulations to Tim Connelly, who has been officially inducted into the Tennis Coaches Association (TCA) Hall of Fame, joining an esteemed group of just 30 coaches honoured over the Association’s 69-year history.

With 22 years of service on the TCA Board — including a pivotal term as President — Tim has made an extraordinary contribution to the coaching community and the growth of tennis across Victoria.

As Director of Complete Tennis Services, Tim oversees programs at both Hume Tennis & Community Centre and Sunbury Lawn Tennis Club, driving innovation, inclusion, and excellence.

During his presidency, Tim led with determination and collaboration through the challenges of COVID-19, working closely with Tennis Victoria and Tennis Australia to lobby government for tennis to be recognised as a safe sport. His leadership helped ensure tennis was one of the first sports to return to play.

Beyond administration and advocacy, Tim’s passion for coaching has always been at the heart of his impact. His creativity and vision led to the invention of the Grip Coach, a simple training aid that introduces beginner players to correct tennis grips — a tool now used by coaches and players around the country.

Tim’s dedication to the sport, his relentless energy, and his ability to inspire others have left an enduring legacy on and off the court.

Congratulations, Tim — a well-deserved recognition for a lifetime of contribution to tennis!
